Serenity’s Passage

Serenity's Passage: A Journey of Sensory Balance
Have you ever wanted to take a walk but felt overwhelmed by lights and noises, causing you a sensory overload?
My design is centered around a walkway that explores the delicate balance between sensory deprivation and stimulation. As you journey through the walkway, you gradually disconnect from the external environment, allowing yourself to find a moment of rest. The vibrant lighting slowly fades away, making room for soothing shadows, while the walls grow thicker, shielding you from the bustling noises of the city. You can take a moment to relax on a hammock, listening to the gentle sound of water dripping from a fountain, and experience a sense of peace. On your way out, the lighting gradually returns, the walls transform into fabric, and you reconnect with the 'outside' in a tranquil manner.
To design Serenity's Passage, I used Mycelium. I turned these mushroom roots into fabric, foam, brick foams, and leather, through different mechanical and chemical processes, bio-fabrication, and composite process.
